Keynote Speaker: Qiu Feng
Discussants: Meng Yanhong, Gao Chaoqun

The research of Mr. Qiu tries to subversion all the modern historical narration. He doesn't reference modern historical data or archeological data in his research but depends on ancient classic such as The Four Books and The Five Classics.

Qiu Feng divided history since period Yao and Shun into five stages and summarized each features: The first period started from period of Yao Shun ended in the period of Spring and Autumn which is called feudal period. During this period supreme ruler and subject should performance their right and obligation although their right and obligation are not equivalent. Feudal system based on a series of contracts and regulated by customary law. People can't enjoy equality but they can enjoy freedom.

The second period is kingship of Warring States period. In Mr. Qiu's analysis Warring States is equal to modern states for all the dimensions of a modern state are established. People's status become equal and criminal law, system of Prefecture County and market system established too.

The third period is Qin Dynasty. Qin Dynasty is different from kingship as before. It is totalitarian imperial power which people disunited with each other. So it falls to pieces in a very short time.

The fourth order is multi-governing system established in emperor Wu and Dong Zhongshu. Confucian got their status as communicator between the God and the king. Confucian could get their purposes through the explanation of God. When Confucian became officials of the dynasty, the government became a multi-governing system that combined by ethics and law, society and government.
